Science Fair
The Science Fair was a great success with awesome projects that really showed the Barracudas knowledge of the scientific method. They did a great job presenting their projects to other students as well was parents and friends. It makes a teacher proud to see the high quality work the Barracudas produced.

Chair Affair
The Barracudas once again participated as artists creating a chair for The Chair Affair, a fundraiser for a Tacoma charity that provides furniture for low income families. Last year's entry went for $200 and was the first that sold! We're hoping for similiar results this year.

Trebuchets
To test some of the physics concepts they have learned the Barracudas created and test fired trebuchets, or catapults. Some were more successful then others but in the creation the Barracudas learned a lot about energy, force and trajectory.

Happy Chinese New Year
The Barracudas had a busy day celebrating Chinese New Year. The morning was spent learning about New Year traditions as well as doing Chinese activities like tanagrams. For lunch one of our wonderful parents brought in Chinese food and everyone tried out different entrees.
In the afternoon we learned about Sume painting from a local artist. The Barracudas learned how to paint in this traditional style and some of the philosophy behind it.
It was a pretty exciting back to school day!
