Happy Chinese New Year
The Barracudas had a busy day celebrating Chinese New Year. The morning was spent learning about New Year traditions as well as doing Chinese activities like tanagrams. For lunch one of our wonderful parents brought in Chinese food and everyone tried out different entrees.
In the afternoon we learned about Sume painting from a local artist. The Barracudas learned how to paint in this traditional style and some of the philosophy behind it.
It was a pretty exciting back to school day!

Swimming Lessons
Swimming at Norpoint is major fun and the kids are already showing their skills. What a great addition to our PE program!
Roller Coaster Physics
It's not too often that fifth graders beg to stay in from recess to work on a science challenge but such was the case with constructing roller coasters to show potential and kinetic energy. After much design work and numerous tests the coaster were shared with the Wildcats who loved trying them out.
