Parallel Circuits
The Barracudas are studying how electricity works and doing experiments with different kinds of circuits. In this experiment they tried to create a parallel circuit and talked about how houses are wired and parallel circuits are used to connect lights and wall outlets.

Gorgeous George
George the Giraffe is ready to find a new home at the Seabury auction and the Barracudas will be sad to see him go. With the help of our wonderful parents the kids built George out of paper mache then painted him in the style of an artist we studied, Romero Britto. He is truly a work of art and would look great in any one's home or office or even outdoors as he will be varnished.
Romero Britto heard about George and liked him so much he is sending the Barracudas a thank you for studying his art! We can't wait to see what it is! Check out his work at: http://www.britto.com/

Static Electricity
The Barracudas began their study of electricity by conducting two experiments about static electricity. They discovered that, when charged, balloons attracted certain items and then looked for patterns of what was a conductor and what was an insulator. They then tried to charge pens and see when they would repel and attract one another.
Next step, building circuits!

Science Fair
The Science Fair was a great success with awesome projects that really showed the Barracudas knowledge of the scientific method. They did a great job presenting their projects to other students as well was parents and friends. It makes a teacher proud to see the high quality work the Barracudas produced.
